The Gwangju Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias Cohort Research (GARD) was established under the Ministry of Science and ICT's Original Technology Development Program in Brain Science.

As our society rapidly enters a super-aged era, the prevalence of dementia and its social burden continue to grow. GARD is committed to addressing these challenges through early diagnosis technologies and dementia prediction mapping.

As the first dementia cohort research initiative focused on the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions, GARD has built a strong research foundation through large-scale cohort studies and multidisciplinary collaboration among academia, government, and research institutions.
